Hello dear reader,
A friend of mine once said this to me while we were discussing the issue of money and till today I have not been able to get it out of my mind.
One could only wonder what God is up to for making me remember this proverb on a day like this, Our Independence day in Nigeria. Money is a necessity of life. Like, we all need money to be able to survive and do basic stuff such as eat, dress, transportation, education, amongst others.
But, how can money be sharper than Knife???? Now this is the intriguing aspect that gets to me any time I think about it.
This proverb came from a late friend of my friend, He said (my friend),
Before he died, he told me that money is sharper than knife and funny how the next day, he died.
The Bible tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil, its a saying we all play with randomly but do we truly know the meaning?
Money is a two edged sword, it can be good as well as bad. The result of loving money excessively could be said to be one peculiar reason of where Nigeria is today. Lately, we’ve been hearing how BUHARI’s administration have been catching various politicians affiliated with looting of funds. The one that shook me was the politician (name withheld) who kept a huge stack of money running to billions in a house. The money was just sitting there and looking while people are out there, hungry and starving! Not to mention, the “agberos”, who risk their lives for politicians during the election period because of the money that would be given to them.
Or should we even talk about people who give their lives up for the government or some extremely rich and powerful people in society to be used to cause havoc or used for inhumane acts like bombing, spreading of diseases amongst others because they were told that they would be paid and their families would be taken care of after they do “the job”. The job that causes millions to be ruined.
The one that infuriates me is when, oh wow! I seem to have forgotten! There are so many ways you could think of, by which money drives people insane and causes them to die. This is where I draw the curtains, money is good to have, not wrong at all, its a blessing from our Creator, however I pray the spirit that makes money sharper than knife, which ruins lives would not ruin ours by His grace (in Jesus name). Amen
