Hi dear reader,
Just reflecting on certain things my Father has been sharing with me.
It’s the need to seek truth in every knowledge you receive. I am being reminded of Amnon and Tamar. A very powerful yet painful story for everyone to learn from.
Amnon happened to be the half-brother of Tamar, a young maiden who was raped because of being stationed to feed her supposedly sick brother at his own home on a fateful day that turned sour.
Before this day, Amnon had been seriously lusting over his sister, (sinful nature alert) and he became sick as a result as documented. Rather than for him to seek advice from a supposedly wise person around him, probably his father, since those days, there was allowance to marry half sister or brother as the case was. My brother unfortunately sought advice from his cousin, Go and read your Bible for more info on his name😀.
In response, the supposed cousin gave him the worst advice that was going to lead to his death. He told him to pretend as a sick man and request his sister to come prepare food at his home. Unknowingly to King David, he just assumed its one of those things, innocent papa right?
However, Tamar got the brunt of the whole matter and got disgraced because of her dignity, and “virginity ” was snatched from her. Being pure was very vital and beautiful and still is by God’s grace.
The part of the story that offends me the most is the way Amnon treated her after the whole deed, I mean, I would have scattered the place honestly if in that position but thank God for our Papa Jesus.
Bottom line, Absalom, Tamar’s real brother, arranged the revenge plan that led to his death for what he did to her.
My point here is this, there is so much benefit for a person in having the true knowledge of God on an issue and I am being specific saying God because He is The truth of all truth. His truth can set you free. Amnon had access to Godly wisdom which had truth that could deliver but he ignored that and listened to the wrong person and that caused his untimely death.
Dear reader, make up your mind today to begin to seek more of God’s truth for your life, and if you are not yet Abba’s child, please it is high time to repent and embrace the glorious life in Christ.
Simply confess to The Lord, Lord Jesus, I believe in You as The One who died for my sins and broke sin’s power over me and the consequences. I acknowledge myself as a sinner and accept You as my Lord and Saviour both now and forevermore in Jesus’ name. Amen. Congratulations. Kindly reach out to me by typing below, on the next steps to take. GOD BLESS YOU.
