Episode 25: Is Christianity a Scam? (Why Your Unmet Hopes Aren’t God’s Failure)
Hello dear reader,
Its been a minute, again😄.
As I write this, I am filled with ultimate gratitude to God who never fails.
His Word is the unshakable foundation: “Continue in my words, you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Yet, let’s be honest. Even those of us who call ourselves children of God sometimes whisper the unsettling question: “Is this whole thing a scam?” This thought usually surfaces when the blessings we hoped for—the promises of God—don’t materialize in our lives.
The Problem Isn’t God, It’s the “Magician Mindset”
Why the disappointment? The only reason is this simple, painful truth: We approach God with a magician’s mindset.
We treat Him like a genie in a lamp or a vending machine: drop in a little faith (a prayer, a tithe), and poof! We expect immediate, personalized results without any further effort.
But God’s relationship with us isn’t magic; it’s a Covenant. His Word charges us to obey Him in all our ways.
Grace: Not a Couch, but a Power Source ⚡
Here’s where the biggest misunderstanding lies: Grace is not an excuse to be lazy.
Grace is the unmerited favour and power of God. Its purpose isn’t just to forgive us, but to give us the supernatural ability to become righteous—to be in right standing with God—so that we can obey Him, follow His laws, and fully receive His blessings.
The Law (Old Covenant): Brought blessings when followed, but our sinful nature made following it impossible.
Grace (New Covenant): Came to abolish the sinful nature’s power and give us the power to obey Him and truly enjoy the blessings promised in His law.
Your Part of the Bargain: Activating the Power
So, you see, my dear friend, Christianity is absolutely NOT a scam.
God has already fulfilled His part by giving us the power to live a life that gets results. The problem is on our side: We haven’t been fulfilling our part of the bargain.
The power (Grace) is there, but we don’t use it. This lack of results isn’t a failure of the Kingdom promise; it’s simply a failure of obedience caused by ignorance or unbelief.
Now you know! That feeling of disappointment isn’t proof of a scam; it’s a flashing sign pointing you back to God’s blueprint for obedience.
Glory to God in the highest! Jesus loves you ❤️.
Have a great day shining in His glory 🔥🔥
My mission is not to build a fan base but for you to find Jesus Christ, Your Creator, here and be redirected to Him, The Source of All Things and The One who can truly satisfy your thirst and hunger. You can find Him in The True Holy Bible. The YouVersion Bible on Play Store is a good place to start, as it has many simple versions of Scripture you can read but I will recommend AMPC, KJV, NKJV, preferably as led by God’s Spirit.
